We use rapidly programmed prototypes to gauge the degree of user-friendliness, the ease and effectiveness of use of the service (usability tests) before it is fully developed. We can, however, organise Wizard-of-Oz tests (WoZ tests) as well, even before a prototype has been created, in order to quickly estimate the effectiveness of the initial VUI vision, which - as a result - may necessitate a modification of the design.In both cases, we use purposefully selected user groups that are representative of your different target market segments and various types of customer, in terms of age, social class, education level, and level of familiarity with computers, technology and IVR applications.
